This struct came with a excellent set of instructions to help make the replacement as easy as possible. Be aware that your brake line is probably attached to a clip on the old struct and must be removed. My brake line was so rusty that it broke during the removal process and resulted in a $150 brake line replacement. So beware.

Put quick struts on rear 1992 mazda protege. I am not very skilled. With penetrating oil for 2 days it was still hard to get one of the 4 big bolts off with 18in long 1/2in drive bar. Took me about 2.5 hours first side and 1 hr second side. Biggest unexpected problem was I had to push up the strut about 3 inches after I connected the top in order to connect the bottom. Maybe I was supposed to disconnect the stabilizer bar to drop the wheel hub lower. Anyway there is a flange to hold the brake line on both sides of the strut and I was able to get the jack under the unused side in order to push the strut up 3 inches. The car rides so much better now. I am considering doing the front which has an extra step or two.

I needed these for a 1993 escort wagon. paid $800 for the car, so i could not justify paying what a shop wanted for shocks and struts. So i ordered front and rear quick struts from Monroe. it took me and a buddy about 4 hours to replaced all 4 assemblies on my car. Most of that time was getting the old rusted parts OFF of the car. lots of WD-40 and a crow bar! these are high performance parts, but will do the trick for any normal driving and at a more than reasonable cost.

One good piece of advice is to wait until Monroe is having a buy 3 get one free sale. i didn't and 3 days after my purchase, they went on sale. So i could have saved even more!

i will be buying Monroe again the next time i need to replace my suspension!

The Monroe Quick-Struts were a snap to install without the need to compress the springs. The price was also excellent with the Monroe rebate of $125 for four units and it was cheaper than buying each component separately. I do not know if it will last as long as KYB or OEM part, but the ride is nice and controlled now than before with the old Gabriel struts which leaked after only 23k miles. I would recommend these units if you could get the rebate.

Easy and quick to install, provides a great ride and were less expensive than buying the parts separately. It was a bonus that I did not have to mess with a spring compressor as well.
