I needed this gmos100 on my 2004 gmc sierra denali because I have a bose lux setup with an amp that i had to integrate with. And this puppy did it no problems at all.

As for hooking it up, well it was mind squisher. There were just so many wires, but in the end i believe all i had to do was match wire colors up. A child could eventually figure it out. And then It worked perfectly, door chimes, onstar, and the radio with the steering wheel controlls all just worked.

At first my sound quality was not very good, But then I had taken my dash back out to fix some other problems with my headlights and while i was under there i decided to turn up the two potentiometers that were on the side of the gmos100. I turned them both up and poof! my sound was better then it was before I installed the head unit and gmos100.

I am very pleased with this unit and with amazon.

Also this unit comes with lots more adapter wires than you will need to install it with. They are to fit other vehicles.

I ordered the harness on a Sunday and had it, with standard shipping, that Friday. The only challenge that I had was figuring out whether my particular vehicle had an amplified system or not. Since it is an option, that was my problem not Mentra's. I had the harness wired to the after-market wiring in about an hour. Everything worked as advertised, except the steering wheel controls (SWC). I am still struggling to get those working properly.

While figuring out which connectors I actually needed was a little confusing, the whole hookup took about an hour and I was able to retain onstar, steering wheel controls, and system chimes. Don't forget to turn the pentiometers all the way up, both of them, before you put your cd player back in!

As an installer from back in the late 70's early 80's...... Metra has CONSISTANTLY been at the top of the aftermarket kits department. I had only one issue my Bluetooth... called METRA and got a REAL ENGLISH-SPEAKING tech who solved my issue in less than a minute!!!!!!!!!!!!! This kit is VERY complex-yet VERY CLEARLY documented and was easy to follow...

I would recommend METRA to ANYONE who wanted to install aftermarket...
