This mounting system works better than I expected it would. I travel via rental car regularly and needed something to be flexible to move into and out of different vehicles. This unit hold steady and protects my laptop great, especially during sudden stops. The only downfall to this unit is the lack of instructions that come with the unit for assembly. I can follow directions well, and had some difficulty with a few of the steps. All in all, you do not need to be an engineer to assemble it, bunt the company seemed to cut corners when they wrote decided what to issue as instructions.
Thatball being stated, I would not hesitate to purchase another product from this company if the need presents itself. I was quite impressed with the stability of a unit that is considerednmobile...

Things I like about this item1. The nice travel case it comes with
2. Solid construction and design
3. Nobody can sit in the front passenger seat, which makes your friends and co-workers angry, but allows me to keep control of the radio station!
Things I noticed
1. The springs can be kind of loud when traveling on non-smooth surfaces.
2. The mount comes loose and though the item is constructed well, I do not like wrenching it too tight.
Traveled a lot with this item and plan to keep using it.
