I bought a CG lock for autocross use. I absolutely cannot slide around in the seat as the CG lock holds me firmly in place. For me its one less thing to worry about when I run the course. I also bought one for my daily driver. The way I figure it, if I ever get in a crash, having the bottom portion of my seatbelt locked firmly in place means I move less once the inertial lock on the car's seat belt locks the belt. It gives me an added feeling of security when I drive. Its just nice to be held firmly in place in your seat. I highly recommend this neat little device for anyone who likes to confidently be held in place while they drive.CG-Lock CG001 Seatbelt Stabilizer

I was at first skeptical of what this device promises but now after using it for about 5 years I love it. It is easy to assemble, intuitive to use, and of good quality (over the past 5 years I have only had to re-assemble it once). Best part is that it really does put your lower back in a better position to drive now when I drive long distances my lower back doesn't hurt. I miss it when I am driving other people's vehicles or riding passenger. I would recommend this product to anyone!

I own 6 CG-locks (from both generations of the product). I first installed them 6 years ago on my autocross car, and used them for both autocross and daily driving. My wife liked them so much she had me install them on her SUV. Last year I got the most recent 2 for my commuter car (VW TDI).

This is a great product, very well built, and easy to install. It works as advertised both on the track (control) and the street (comfort). All 6 of them have worked flawlessly, as advertised since they were installed.

The item works for HPDE driving. The handle broke off and it makes the unit unusable. I would not purchase this item again.

I bought a second CG-Lock after my first purchase dismantled after about six months of occasional use. The second, brand new one dismantled on the second day of a three day HPDE event. The locking lever is not held on very securely on its spindle and easily falls off, flicking the lever, brass washer and spring into various locations of your footwell. I reassembled the unit, only for it to fail once again. The build quality of these units is very low and I will look for an alternative.

The unit, when it is fully constructed, does an excellent job of holding your lap belt secure and fixing you in your seat for track day driving, if it wasn't for the build quality (I have had two fail now), I would highly recommend this item. The build quality of new units needs to be improved.
