I had been out of Car Audio since the late 90's and for the last 8 years I have just had the stock radio in my 05 Scion XB. I recently put in a Pioneer fx-h700bt and it sounded a lot better than the stock deck so i started looking for a sub.

One of our local car audio dealers had this Soundstream Stealth Box used at a price I couldn't pass up so I picked it up. I was actually looking for a 10" but I just stuck this in the back of the Scion facing up angled against the back of the rear seat. I hooked it up to an old MTX Road Thunder amp that puts out 214 watts mono @ 4 ohms. I was amazed at how much bass this actually puts out. I had to turn the bass boost off and turn the sub control gain way down on the deck or it was too much bass for me. I originally intended to take the woofer out of this box and build a new box specifically for my XB since this sub has only a 2" mounting depth but now I am in no hurry since the thing sounds pretty good and no one see's it "upside down" in the back of my Scion. Like I said I was looking for a 10" since I like tighter bass but this sounds okay with tight quick bass and pretty good with deeper bass.

I paid less than a third of the price of a new one but I think I still would have given it 4 stars even if I had paid full price for it. I can't speak to how long it will hold up since I have only had it for around 3 weeks and I don't know how it sounds in a truck behind a seat like it was intended for since i'm using it in the Scion which is basically a hatchback. It might sound lousy behind the seat but listening to it in my XB it puts out enough bass for me.

Had this for a few months and I'm about to sell it ..it can't handle the power I have from my small amp ...it bottoms out on the bass and sounds like a tin can when you try to play it at higher volume . This would be a last resort only if you have a tight space and could not fit anything better behind your seat.
