I just installed it into the driver's seat. It took all of an hour and a half. I took it to someone who has experience and knowledge of vehicle wiring. I wanted it to look as if it was a factory installation. It helps significantly if the entire seat is removed from the car. This helps to determine where you would like the switch mounted and helps with installing the heating element to the seat itself. A quick Google search helps with figuring out how to remove the seat covers without causing damage. Addtional items (i.e. zips ties) may be need to help reinstall the seat covers so they look factory. Heating elements are large and fit perfectly in an '09 Jeep Wrangler. Running almost the entire height of the seat and just as wide as the seat itself. Only had to trim the seat portion by 2". After reinstalling seat cover, the zip ties help hide any extra wiring. When it was complete, it looked like a factory installation. This is a must have during winter. Heating element warms up faster than the car does.

I just installed these heaters in my driver side seat of my 2006 toyota tacoma. They work great and just in time for the cooler weather. I am not a professional installer but managed to get it done. It took several hours to complete and I did it in stages. The directions provided are adequate but could be much better, I searched online for other resources before installing myself. The hardest part for me was the electrical, it took a while to figure out where and how to tie in the wiring to an ignition source that would be turned off with the ignition. All said and done I am happy with the results and would definately recommend these!

easy to install, electrical connections and switch have plenty of extra wire to make installation hidden.

It would be nice it product came with a fuse piggy back plug for easier connection into the fuse box. got one at the local Advanced auto parts.

Seems that many reviews are focusing on the installation process, which to me is like saying "I bought a beer mug and then discovered that brewing beer is hard. This mug sucks." Hint: it's not the product's fault that you have to install it. It's true that it doesn't install itself, though. :)

Let's talk about the product itself then:

The heaters seem quite well put together. The wiring is well sorted, and it comes with mostly everything you need to get the job done.

Once installed, the heaters work fantastic; better heat output and faster than the stock heaters in my old Saab or Audi, the high setting will cook you even on a cold day. This could be due to the use of a more modern heating element, or the fact that these are under cloth seats in my Jeep Cherokee rather than the heavy (and slower to heat) leather in the Euro cars, but either way I'm happy.

Time will tell how they hold up. Nothing in the design or materials gave me cause for concern, but I will report back if I have any durability issues.

Installation (ok, this is unrelated to the product itself but relevant for prospective buyers):

Before you decide to get these, do some research online into how hard it is to remove and re-install the upholstery in your vehicle. There are thousands of variations in attachment methods (my Jeep was a combination of easy plastic clips, tricky buried zippers, and pain-in-the-rump hog rings). If your seats take hog rings, I suggest using zip ties instead cheaper, easier, and non-conductive (I don't fancy the notion of clipping a metal ring through the seat heating element).

IMPORTANT: If your vehicle has in-seat airbags, do your due diligence and make sure you know what you are doing before you start pulling stuff apart! You really, really don't want to set those suckers off by accident. If this makes you uncomfortable, installing seat heaters yourself may not be for you. Maybe get the heated seat covers instead.

The instructions (which are a bit vague, by necessity) suggest connecting the heaters directly to a switched power source that can handle a 10-amp load. The question is, do you need 10 amps per heater or for both combined?

The instructions say to check your manual, but most modern owners manuals don't go into details like that any more, though a shop manual might.

My solution was to add an additional relay to the system, so that I could wire the heaters directly to the battery with my relay in between. The additional relay was then triggered by my switched power source (on/off with key), so that the heaters wouldn't drain the battery if I left them on. Maybe unnecessary, but I like not having to wonder if my power source can handle the draw from the heaters.

All in all, a great product. Definitely recommended if you don't mind doing a little wiring and tackling the upholstery remove/install project. Difficulty of installation is slightly higher than an aftermarket car stereo install.
