I always hated going to the gas station to fill my car's tires, and probably suffered from low tire pressure in trying to put off the task for as long as possible between each fill. Once I discovered that personal tire inflator's existed, I knew I needed one to free me from the dependence of gas stations, but I was quickly faced with a wide variety of devices to choose from, and no answer as to what might be the right one for me. I ultimately went with this model for the price, and it's size, which probably is as small as you can get when it comes to tire inflators. It doesn't seem very loud (although I've never used other inflators to compare this), and the gauge is fairly accurate when I compared it to my digital gauge reader, although sometimes it appeared to over estimate the pressure just by 1-2psi. But I suppose that's better than under estimating and possibly over inflating your tires. The power cord that comes with the device is long enough to reach to all four tires on my compact car, but I'm sure it would work just as well on a standard sized car too. It just took about a minute to fill one tire with 5-7 psi of air, and considering that it is saving me the time I would otherwise make with a trip to the gas station, I would have to say that this little inflator works as fast as it needs to for my satisfaction!

Great item in all ways except one. When unscrewing the compressor hose from the bike tire valve, we lose 15-20 psi. I am reluctant to overfill the tire initially to compensate for this loss. If it had a quick release valve, this would be a great device with a competitive price point. First, some specs missing from Amazons product page. It is rated at 12 amps max. This might be a concern as many cars have 10 amp cigarette lighter plugs. Load is directly related to pressure, so if you need to inflate something to 100psi I would expect 10 amp fuses to blow. At 25PSI it pulls 4A, 35 PSI it pulls 5.5A, and at 45 PSI it pulls nearly 7A according to my measurements.I was unable to obtain CFM, but obviously it is not very high. I am able to inflate low-ish profile car tires in about 5 minutes (245/45R17). Topping off pressure (say 30-35 PSI) takes a little less than a minute. The duty cycle is unpublished but I suspect 10 minutes is really pushing it even at low pressures. 5 minutes at under 40 PSI is enough to get it hot. I wouldn't recommend it for fully inflating SUV tires. It will be extremely hot by the time you inflate one.
Overall, at 6"x6"x2" it fits in a glove box or under the seat easily. I may never really need this, but I like having a compressor in each of my vehicles just in case. For low profile tires it is sufficient. For larger SUV tires I would not recommend it. I carry a viair 440 in my Jeep that has 33" offroad tires for example.
