This item is larger and heaver than what I expected but it appears it will be very handy should I ever need it (which I'm hoping it will be money well-wasted). I like the 5 different options available. Seems to me the others I reviewed before selecting this one only had maybe 3 options. This has a flashlight and whistle which may both come in handy (again, hoping I never need to find out).

I have purchased these over the years for all members of my family and friends that drive, they are a must-have for your car, foolish to NOT have one! They all were appreciative and like the safe feeling of having one handy in the car, you never know when you might need it! Living in Manhattan a car here is not needed, but I also have one of these hammers for myself so when I rent a car I bring it with me so I am safe too!

This hammer is put together pretty nicely, and it snaps into the holder well, however the whistle doesn't work very well, and the red LED light is very dim. Its hard to imagine it being useful.

I bought my Dad one for fathers day (since he already has every tool in the world.) Then just 2 days ago I saw on the news that a man had an accident and his vehicle went into the water, which usually kills the battery. Witnesses saw him pounding on the window trying to get out but couldn't. It's a tool I hope he will never have to use, but I will feel better knowing he has it.

It's driving me crazy waiting for June 18th to give it to him.

While I hope to never have the need to use the Escape Hammer, it is sturdy, easy to use and contains all you will need in case of an emergency. Think it should be given to everyone you love and perhaps especially to young adults and seniors.
