Normally product discriptions overly exaggerate the product. Not in this case. I truly feel that Amazons description of this product does not convey it's quality. It is much better built than described. I bought this item on 11-10 it was shipped on 11-11 and I received it on 11-14. I immediately installed it without problem in about 15 minutes. I have been using it for just over two weeks and I love it.
It's an absolute must have for the soft top Jeep owner or as in my case the Jeep owner that frequently goes sans doors and hard top. I challenge anyone to find or design a more practical product of it's kind. If you are a Jeep owner that is looking for a way to protect items in something a little less obvious and a lot more secure than the OEM glove compartment or center console, this is it. I strongly believe that if you purchase this product you will not be disappointed.

The overall quality of the box is good, fit in my 2008 Jeep JK Rubicon without issue. After using it for a month as the lock box for my concealed handgun carry when driving I found the lock began to jam. Having to wiggle the key for 2-3 minutes and twisting is not something you want to have to deal with when trying to get to your concealed carry weapon if a situation arises (just be forewarned).I ended up replacing the cheap lock with a quality unit I ordered online for around $10 (a 5/8 inch "cam lock" is what you can use to replace this with, I ordered a dual sided key type lock that is much sturdier (with a normal looking key that still retains the 90deg. lock/unlock feature).

Unlike prior reviews this lock box will fit 2011 and 2012 JKs.Yes there is a bracket under the seat.
Either 1. unscrew and remove it or 2. bend it back and forth til it snaps off.
All that bracket does is hold up wires as the seat moves back and forth. If you place the box in there the wires slide back and forth nicely. If and when you ever remove the box simply use a zip tie to keep the wires nicely out of the way.

I ordered this under seat safe for my 07 Jeep JK I have had a few Jeeps and Bestop always seems to have good products. I got the safe and was happy about the look and quality only to find that there is no KEY! Really?!I am sure I would rate this product higher but all this is to me now is a 20 lb weight. That being said, I have been pretty happy with Amazon up to this point. I hope that I don't have to return the safe just to get the key as it would be costly but I am guessing that is what will have to happen.
UPDATE -
Ok, so got it replaced and this is a cool thing to have for your Jeep. It has a smooth opening and closing operation, doesn't rattle, and it is lined! Works great!

I'm both impressed and disappointed with this product. Impressed with the quality, sturdiness, and ease of installation. The disappointment is more of my own doing. I purchased this to secure my pistols when unable to carry them. I keep a 20 round magazine in my Beretta which makes it too big to place inside with the mag installed. This product is very deserving of 5 stars, I only wish it were a little wider, though the space is not available under the seat.As an additional note, there is no detent in the drawer track to keep it closed while unlocked. The addition of this and a handle would make this item perfect.
