The dimensions were for the outside and the car key that I was trying to use it for was just a little too large. The dimensions that they gave are for the outside and another 1/4 needs to be allowed for material. The latching system is good and the case is good quality so I cut a slot in the end for the key to poke through.

I'm not big on plastics unless known to be recycled.

But this is nice. I had a hide a key which was metal and eventually rusted. Key got wet/rusted and was pretty much useless.

This plastic box won't rust. Seems durable enough, so I can hide in yard, even in plain sight without it being noticed.

A 2 pack makes for a good buy for a spare house key/ car, even emergency cash.

I have a 2006 vehicle, it has buttons to lock and unlock the doors. Also a panic button. I thought that this key holder would be big enough, but it is too small! I cannot use it for a CAR key.
