While I can't give this item 5 stars I think 3 1/2 is more accurate than 3.
I like the cup holder phone mount idea but it's poorly executed in this product. The actual cup holder mount is solid and fits well into my car's center console cup holder. The adjustable base allows for a solid and snug fit.
That said, I use the Seidio Innocase Surface Case for Motorola DROID (Black) on my phone and it WILL NOT fit in the mount if I am using that case. The added bulk of the case causes the phone to pop out of the mount. If I take the case off the mount fits the phone well but not perfectly.
I don't use my DROID as a GPS that often so removing the case is only a minor inconvenience. My car is equipped with integrated Bluetooth so having the phone mounted and accessible is useful and makes up so some of the other inconveniences.
I considered returning the mount but it will do the job I want it to do. If you're thinking about purchasing this mount here are some things to keep in mind.
1. If you use a case or shell for your DROID you will have to remove the case to use the mount.
2. The position and style of your cup holder is a double edged sword. My cup holder is in the center console with the arm rest and it works well there. If your cup holder retracts from the dash or is in an unusual location the mount could be very inconvenient or possibly unusable.
3. The mount does not adjust for height but easily allows for use of the DROID in Landscape or Portrait orientation.
4. The price seems a bit high for what you get.
I'd like the Amzer cup holder a lot more if it allowed for adjustment to accommodate my phone with the case on.

Ordered this a few months ago. Now it's dead. It popped out of my cup holder every day. Because I couldn't get it to fit properly in my cup holder, it would also pop out when I put the phone in it, which meant that sometimes it would pop out as I was getting out of the car. Yesterday, I failed to realize that this happened. As I pulled out of my parking space, I heard the unsettling crack of rolling over something. Yep, it was the car mount. Not so good...Pros:
1. Easy to swivel and adjust
2. Cup holder placement made for a safer line of sight
Cons:
1. Didn't fit well into my Prius cup holder
2. Have to take off the case for the phone to fit
