I really thought it was going to be like a giant totebag that you sling over the car seat and use for storage, but it's really not. Instead, it's like a very sleek messenger bagspacious enough for a laptop, diapers, change of clothes, etc, but has a sleek profile and is not bulky at all. It's small enough that you can throw it over your shoulder and carry it wherever you are going, whether it's an afternoon at the library, the afternoon at the park, of a few days on vacation. This does NOT look like luggage OR storage, but provides the benefits of both.
Best part are the roomy, cushioned pockets. The bag offers excellent protection for whatever you decide to stow in it. We have both a preschooler AND laptops, and there is room for everything. I would feel very safe throwing one of our Macbooks into the bag and having it be "bumped" around. The bag is insulated, so if you want to pack it with food for a car trip or picnic, you can do that, too.
This is a great item for a student, a parent, a professional, an athletewhatever. It's the perfect solution to the need for more organized storage in the car and the need for something to carry around that doesn't *look* like storage or luggage. We're going to get one for the other car.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I actually use this a little differently than intended. I hang it so the bag hangs IN the passenger seat, not behind it. I am usually alone in the car, and this comes in handy to keep all my miscellaneous gear close by without being all over the seat. I find the water bottle holder especially useful when I decide to grab the whole bag out of the car. It holds a few papers, maps, sale ads, and the chargers for my phone and MP3 quite nicely. There's also room for to keep a couple of CDs between rotations. It's very sturdily constructed, however I don't think it's worth $30. Adequate, but not a necessity.Best Deals for Thule Transport Seat Back Sling Organizer
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I understand that this bag is meant to be an over the car seat sling bag for storage, but it looks too much like a laptop bag (and the inside is padded and quite suitable for an appropriately sized laptop) for me to want to leave it visible in an unattended vehicle.I get the impression that Thule just wanted to try and re-purpose a messenger bag, but it's not attractive or functional enough for me to want to use it as such. With a permanently attached but reasonably comfortable strap, the bag is too stiff and square to comfortably wear across your body. There is a single hand strap, presumably so it's easier to access the contents while it is hanging over your car seat, but for carrying around, depending on how you have the bag loaded, it will pull lopsided. If you put a water bottle in the supplied front pocket, it pulls the front zippered section away from its velcro attachment and makes the bag uncomfortable and unsightly.
It appears to be well constructed, but I just don't find the design practical or useful.
Honest reviews on Thule Transport Seat Back Sling Organizer
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I almost gave this two stars, but the mouse-over message shows "I DON'T LIKE IT" for 2 stars, which is not the case for this product. I like it ok, but I sure would never recommend that someone buy one.As mentioned before...IT'S JUST A BAG. Now Thule makes some GREAT gear, but this item seems to have an identity crisis.
Certainly not worth the asking price imo, considering it doesn't do anything unique that a million other bags like this can do...i.e. hold stuff. Yes, it's marketed as a unique car bag + "regular" bag solution, but come on. If you want to buy it for the Thule name, fine. I am sure people will think you're cool. If you want to buy it for the very high quality workmanship, fine, because it IS well made and is likely near indestructible.
But getting above the marketing speak/message, this is nothing more than a bag that slings over your car seat, again, which you could achieve with a million other bags that you get at trade shows for free, or who knows where else (I have tons of empty bags very similar to this one, doing nothing).
It doesn't even really "sit" any differently as I thought it might, when slung on the seat. I thought maybe the angle or something would allow it to stay more upright or level than a typical bag...but no.
So since I can't pan something that is this well made, I can also neither give it anything above the three star, "it's ok" rating, because it's just a damn bag! :) I can't put it more plainly than that.
IMO, the much better and more practical solution is still the most obvious one: Get a normal seat back organizer which is more permanently fixed to the seat, and a tote bag for when you're mobile. For family use at least, it's not hard to duplicate the kind of stuff I think this item is marketed for: diapers, wipes, kleenex, snacks, etc.
