The rear view mirror in the car has fallen off three times in the past few years (always in HOT weather), and I am tired of putting in back on. So, I bought this to stick on the windshield where the original mirror mount was. Works great, very sturdy, and gives a better rear view than the original mirror. Pretty much eliminates the blind spots. Does has a wide-angle image, and takes a bit of getting used to, but provides a safer view of what is behind your car. Plus, cleaning the inside windshield will be easier--I'll just remove this mirror to make the job go faster. No more trying to clean the smears around the permanent mirror.

I was shopping for a baby mirror to put on my back window so I could keep an eye on our newborn in her rear facing car seat. One thing I found when shopping for a "baby mirror" is the quality is usually poor, and the mirror is a silver film with horrible optics. I happened upon this while searching and figured if it could handle a boat in the waves, it should work in my car. I WAS RIGHT!! This is a great mirror to use as a baby mirror. Much better than anything else I could find.Best Deals for CIPA 11050 Suction Cup Marine Mirror
Update Feb 2012:We've now had this mirror for a couple of years and are still pleased with it. The suction cup still works well, the mirror has only fallen off once or twice in 50 hours of boating.
One advantage of a clip on might be that the mirror could be mounted above the windshield frame for a potential better rear view.

I wasn't so sure about purchasing a suction cup mirror but I didn't want to make holes or clamp one on my windshield frame either. I Google'd several times and kept coming up with this same product. I'm very pleased with it. Our used 2006 Yamaha SX210 didn't come with a mirror. I wanted to see behind the boat so I could keep an eye on those I'm towing in tubes or the wakeboard. It's also nice to see if there are any other boats closing in from behind.
This mirror stuck without falling off once during a 4 hour family boating outing. The 4" x 8" viewing area seemed large and the images are clear. I tried it in several locations, even on the side window next to my driver's seat. The base provides sufficient flexibility to use it in various angles. It has the added advantage that if I forget to remove it for trailering it won't damage the boat cover because there is noting sticking out of the top of the windshield.
Honest reviews on CIPA 11050 Suction Cup Marine Mirror
I purchased 2 of these mirrors for our cars despite many reviews that the stems are made of cheap pot metal and they tend to snap. The reviews were true, the metal stem it pretty brittle looking, however there is a workaround! There are two screws on the under part of the mirror that connect the mirror to the stem, between the two mirrors I purchased one was on much tighter than the other so tight that I felt if I were to adjust it in its current state it would have snapped. So:1: if you receive a mirror that is hard to adjust remove it from the window and flip it upside down exposing the two screws on the back of the mirror that attach it to the stem.
2: loosen the screws slows until the mirror is no longer stuck on the stem and can move without feeling you'll break it.
3: done! Place it back on the window
They are not the highest quality but given the price, size, and clarity of these mirrors you just can't beat them.
