The suction cups at the top of the shade are great but do not allow the shade to touch the top of the window. With our car it ends up allowing a large strip of sun to shine across our baby's head. We "fixed" this problem by kind of squishing the flexible shade on top of the back of the seat so it pushes higher and touches the top of the window.
It's very nice to be able to see so well out the back window and yet have the protection for our daughter who is rear-facing in her car seat.

I found that as soon as I put it up, it fell down again. Useless! It didn't provide much shade even when up.

This shade is great. We purchased it for our 2005 Malibu and it fits perfectly in the rear window. We do not need to use the suction cups because the rear window is only 16 inches high which is perfect. Also, by not using the cups, the shade touches the top of the window and is plenty long enough for the rear window. I only wish they made side window shades. The roll-up ones in the store are ok, but look tacky. I would highly recommend purchasing this item for your car. It works well at night cutting down the headlight glare in your rearview mirror.
