Hooked up VAG 401 and went through all the settings for about 2hrs. First impression was that its slow to access the various modules but Ross Tech VAG-COM was not spectacularly fast either with the odd menue system VW has. I wanted this unit for the convenience of having it along on a trip without logging around a laptop. As stated in the manual Adaptation and coding is possible but I have not attempted any yet. Its interesting to drive around while looking at the various measuring blocks or torque output and such. It will not retrieve past codes that have been thrown but went away on their own over various drive cycles or that have been erased by ignition key reset method. The manual is a little sketchy as expected with a Chinese product. I primarily chose this unit over a VAG405 or 505 because of Adaptation and Coding. I have not spend any time yet checking Readiness. I would say its worth the $65 I paid. I will try to follow up with an update.
