These all-in-one Quick Struts were awesome. Easy to install, simply remove tire, remove bolt from tie-rod, remove three bolts from top of strut, use 30mm socket to remove large bolt from bottom of strut. Repeat to assemble new Quick Strut. This took less than 20 minutes per wheel. Note: hand tighten with socket and wrench the top three bolts of the Quick Strut.

1) Bottom bolt requires pneumatic/electric wrench/351 lbs/inch torque and 20mm or 1 3/16 long socket. 2) Remove front bottom ball joint/control arm. 3) Remove top nut. Tap side / cast iron part with hammer for arm to drop. 4)Remove top three nuts. It practically falls out.

I did not buy these struts from Amazon because the auto parts store matched the price. I just recently bought my 2006 Ford F-150 Lariat pickup. Good price but lots of miles. I decided to replace the struts because it felt that there was a little bounce in the front end when I was driving on rough roads. Here are a few 'pros' and 'cons' about these struts.

IF you feel uncomfortable about changing the struts out, talk to your local auto parts man. They will be able help clarify what you have to do and what you will need for tools. Safety tip: Use jack stands, set the emergency brake, and 'chalk' the rear tires.

Pros:

1. EASY to install. I thought that I had to remove the air cleaner cabinet but, when I removed the wheels I found that I could use a ratcheting open-end wrench to remove the top 3 nuts on each strut (a standard open-end will work). Once I had the correct sockets for the bottom bolt and nut, the strut was loosened but, I was unable to get it out because the steering arm was in the way. Remove the bolt connecting the steering arm to spindle assembly and let the arm hang. Pull the old strut out and set the new one in. Make sure that you align the top 3 studs with the holes in the top of the wheel well (the holes are not spaced symetrically). Spin the nuts down but do not tighten. Secure the bottom bolt and nut at the bottom of the strut (make sure to torq these down). If you don't have a torq wrench, make sure these are tight! Know, go back the the top 3 nuts and tighten (these also have a torq specification). Reattach the steering arm to the spindle assembly and torq! You don't want this bolt coming loose. Double check your work then, put the tire on and go to the next wheel.

Cons:

1. I had to go to the auto parts dealer and buy some rather large 1/2" deep sockets.

I was not interested in buying the stiffer "premium" struts because simply, I did not need them. When I replaced the rear shocks, I bought Monroe shocks that matched my front wheel strut specs. I have a truck that rides just like a new F-150!! I highly recommend these fully assembled struts to anyone wanting to restore the ride and handling of their vehicle.

Nice heavy duty assembly. Raised front end about 4 inches. Nice ride. Long over due. 2 month old and very happy . Easy install. Struts, spring assemblys are the only way to go.
