I bought one of these for my explorer to warm up the back seat and it was probably the worst purchase of my life. This item does not work, it is a huge rip off. I hope this helps anyone considering this heater or should i say winter air conditioner although it does blow heat in summertime. What a joke, Im embarassed to say i spent money for this peice of junk.

This unit wasn't able to provide much heat at all. I would not recommend this product at all.

Yeah i agree with the gentleman with the VW bus, I had mine for 14 years and never did it not perform well. The guy with the exploer is way off base. This is a depenable heater and works well in the winter. I would spend the extra couple of bucks and get this one.

I have depended on Therm-Tech's Back Seat Heat to keep me reasonably warm during Colorado winters for close to 20 years. The original unit (purchased in 1990) shorted-out due to an exposed power-supply wire in my '68 VW Camper, but it was a no brainer to order a new (& improved!) Back Seat Heat Plus 1100.

The only other review I've seen for this product was by a gentleman who was dissatisfied with its performance in his Ford Explorer. I'm not sure what the problem is with his heating system, but I know from experience that he was WAY OFF BASE; his review should be disregarded. Keep in mind that Back Seat Heat is a SUPPLEMENTARY heater: it raises the ambient air temperature of the passenger compartment by 20-30 degrees (if it is 40 degrees outside, for example, it will heat compartment to roughly 60 degrees).

My first BackSeat Heat gave 20 years of service under harsh conditions, and I expect to enjoy many more years with the new unit. BTW: Great customer service!

THE COMPANY I ORDERED FROM IS GREAT,BUT THE COMPANY THAT MADE THE UNITED DID NOT CHECK THINGS OUT . THE UNIT WENT BAD WITHIN A COUPLE OF MONTHS. MANY OF THE REPORTS ON LINE SAID THE UNIT WAS GREAT. THE UNIT WAS MELTING THE FUSES. THIS IS REALLY BAD.
