What a shame these floor mats aren't worth their price tag. Yes, they're gorgeous; the butterflies pop off the black carpet in a swarm of colors. However, that's the first problem: The mats are so beautiful, you'll be hesitant to actually put them to use. I know I wouldn't want to get mud and dirt all over those beautiful rainbow wings. The biggest problem, though, is their cheap construction. The mats are quite thin, about 1/2" thick. Actually, that's a lie. The edging around the mats is 1/2" thick; the mats themselves are probably an eighth of an inch thinner. In fact, the carpet is so thin, the wear and tear from daily driving will undoubtedly wear a hole through the mats within a year, if not sooner. The backing, which is supposed to add a waterproof, or at least water-resistant, layer to the mats, feels flimsy and, quite frankly, porous. The teeth, which are supposed to be secure enough to keep the mats in place, pop off easily; when I received my order, several of them had already broken off, whether during shipping or even earlier in the process, I don't know. It wasn't a good sign, though. Needless to say, the mats didn't stay outside the shipping box for long; they quickly went back to Amazon and then on to whatever automotive warehouse hinterland from which they originated. If I'm paying $30 for something, I not only want it to look pretty, I want it to stand up to the test of time. Otherwise, it's a waste of my money and in this day and age, who wants that? Not me, that's for sure. What a shame. Because I love butterflies and in my pretty little Plymouth Neon, these would've been gorgeous.
