This is a 12-volt powered 8-inch sub woofer. The build quality is high and it is HEAVY probably due to a giant magnet inside.

The performance is okay about what I expected from an 8-inch speaker in a 3-inch high enclosure.

It's built for "under-seat" vehicle installations where there isn't room for a large speaker box enclosure. In my case, this is installed in a small RV without much room.

The sub woofer is designed and intended to work in a closet space.

And once the speaker is bolted or screwed to a firm hard surface, it really can be made to boom.

The optional remote is a corded potentiometer which can be mounted with screws if desired.

There are adjustments for gain, bass boost, low pass filter and a cross-over switch on the main unit.

Given that the speaker is only 8-inches diameter and the enclosure only 3-inches tall, I have to give it a five star rating based on it's price, performance, size and quality build.

This is not the sub woofer for you if you're looking for the big boom, room vibrating sound.

But if your listening space lacks low frequency response and you don't have the room for a proper sized speaker enclosure, then you would find this a suitable sub woofer.

The only downside is that the installation booklet is barely adequate. Made in China and it shows.

None-the-less, its pretty basic power wire positive, negative and an on/off trigger wire from the stereo unit plus the two RCA jacks (not included) connected to the stereo. Unless you're completely in the dark about this stuff, it is pretty simple. Additional install manual help can be found online with a Google search.

I purchased this active sub to go under the seat in my Mercedes wagon it's a 30 year old classic with tiny 4 inch speakers from the factory, and as you might guess, they were sorely lacking in the bass department. I wanted to keep the car looking original, but also wanted great sound, so this was my solution to keeping the 4 inch speaker size for the factory front and rear speaker locations and still getting some great sound.

Overall, this speaker set up is absolutely wonderful. Bass is more than adequate for my grown up tastes and it adds signigicant depth to my listening experience, whether classical, rock, or jazz. I had hoped that the sub, coupled with a head unit that enabled me to set up high/low pass filters to keep the right frequencies to the right speakers would give me great sound and it has done just that.

Installation was easy, for the most part. I ordered a subwoofer install kit to make sure I had long and thick wires for power and the kit also included the RCA interconnects I needed and the remote power lead. With a little care and some planning, I was able to set up the wires and test fit the speaker underneath my drivers seat. Unfortunately, I also found that I didn't have quite enough space underneath for the sub enclosure to easily fit. Being an older car, the seats sat fairly low in the car, but I was able to pull the seats, add some washers to space it up, and also trim down some of the carpet so that I made the space for the sub to fit. Oh, and I also was able to pry off the speaker grill, too, to make a bit more space. With all of those modifications, it fit nicely, and I'm glad it did, given the sound quality I'm getting!

As a note, be sure to read the installation manual and follow all the steps to set things up. Initially, I set the sub up intuitively and verified that I was getting sound from it by feeling the speaker, but the manual also had steps to set the gain on the sub, which I didn't do. The resulting sound was disappointing and it seemed like no matter what I did, I was wanting for bass. Once I read the directions and followed them, however, I found myself much happier with the resulting sound and found that I was setting my audio settings back to where I had expected them to be when I first installed the sub I was actually getting too much bass with the gain set correctly and my head unit boosting the bass even more.

All in all, it's an excellent product, especially for owners of older cars that might have been designed with less than stellar sound systems to begin with. It's easy to hide so it's not obvious, but it also adds substantially to the sound that is there, more so than its size might indicate, and it rounds out a small speaker setup perfectly.

I bought this because I wanted to fill in the bass in my car stereo without taking up a ton of space or costing a fortune. I installed this in a Ford Ranger, and I couldn't be happier! It has plenty of output and does not max out or get distorted at very loud volumes. If you're looking for added bass for your car stereo and have a vehicle with a small interior, I think this will work well for you. It isn't going to be satisfactory if you mount it outside the passenger compartment (don't mount it in the trunk and expect much!), and it isn't going to be satisfactory if you want some thumping thing all the cars around you can hear. By the way, I think the wired remote volume/level control is kind of silly (especially since my head unit has a sub-woofer level control); fortunately, you can just ignore this control don't connect it the sub works fine without it. One last thing, It would not fit under the seat in my Ranger I ended up mounting it against the back wall of the cab.

We put this unit under the driver's seat of our Subaru Forester. It is not intended for use at high volume, but works well with the small seekers in the doors. I was concerned about cargo space in a small SUV. Wasn't sure about the compact size or an all in one subwoofer unit. Once the perimeters are set it gives the system a nice full spectrum sound.

Pros:

Good quality

Sturdy and durable

Fixed firmly when installed properly. It doesn't move, so I don't need to re-adjust it again.

Can easily clean it using wet wipes or rags.

Cons:

Hard to install. Took longer than 1 hour (But, once it is installed, it's very good).

On some cars, it doesn't fit well. So it looks ugly (But even on such a car it is fixed firmly so it doesn't move).

Poor instructions. Note that the "Airbag Compatible" tag should be at the airbag side.

Very hard to uninstall. I'd never uninstall it until I sell the car.

Not washable (But it can be cleaned using wet wipes or rags).

Despite of the cons, it really does its work and I'm very satisfied. I've used a few seat covers under $100. And this was the best.

If it gets torn or I get another car, I will buy this seat cover again.

The TFY headrest mount is so simple but yet effective. The installation took only 5 min but the tablet stays in place perfectly. You pull the elastic band around the headrest and attach the velcro pieces together, stick your Galaxy Tab 2 in the tablet case provided and stick the case onto the exposed velcro from the elastic band. It is as simple as that. No worries about the velcro, it is very strong and takes quite a bit of effort to unhook the tablet case from the elastic band.

The great thing about this mount is that you can easily take it out and install it on another car if necessary or adjust the angle of view because it is not permanently attached in the same spot. We now have an "entertainment package" on both cars for cheap !!!

We decided to drive to Portland in mid-June, stay for a couple of weeks or so, then drive home. Not a big deal in years past. A bit of a bigger deal with a 14 month old toddler. She's is a good traveler, loves the car, loves adventures. But, a 16 hour drive is a lot of time. We took two days each way, about 9-10 hours the first day, 5-6 the second.

I was give a Tab 2 as a gift a few weeks before and started thinking how this could serve to help us along the way.

Couldn't be happier with it. Extremely easy to attach. It took a bit of twisting and folding to get on my Honda Civic headrest, but once on, it seemed part of the seat. It's very subtle and so I leave it on all the time now. The velcro is quite strong, takes a good tug to get the tab off of it.

The case it comes with is very snug, fits great, hardly notice it's there, making it easy to pull off and use in other ways without being bothered by it.

We didn't have videos on the whole time, we had different strategies, but there were times in which our daughter needed some distraction and this served as an ideal way to do it. Plus, the older she gets the more useful it will be.

Because this was somewhat last minute, I only had a couple of apps and movies for her. I'm thinking I'm going to get another 32GB microSD card and have it dedicated only for movies. That way we're always ready whenever the road trip bug strikes again.

I've had this mount for about 9 months now and it has served me well for the most part.

Installation: Took about 15-20 minutes because of some of the mount rubbing up against another metal piece. I had to file down a section of the metal in order to have it securely bolted down.

Adjust-ability: Sometimes a little hard to loosen the cell phone mount and re-tighten it in landscape mode, depending on the tilt of the mount. For the most part however, easy to use.

Durability: This is where it gets stars knocked off. The issue that I keep having is that the bottom legs keep breaking. I use this pretty much every day and I have gone through all four of the legs that was provided with the mount. At this point I am trying to find a replacement for the legs. I really wanted to give this review 3.5 stars but since I couldn't and I am frustrated at the fact that I can't find replacement legs, I am rounding down.

I like to start out with the low points and get those out of the way when I really like a product.

the arms on the universal holder are the Achilles heel of this product. They are flimsy compared to the rest of the unit and are never permanently anchored in place. They use a slotted cutout that allows them to slide in and out of either side. In theory, you could rotate the unit 90 degrees and the arms would slide out with gravity if they aren't holding anything (no spring pressure).

I used the passenger seat bolt-down method; using only one anchor point probably makes the stand a little more susceptible to vibration and wobble.

The pros:

Since the gooseneck is so rigid, it has the strength to handle larger devices. It comes with adequate mounting hardware for a variety of mounting location options all of which are very secure. The top of the gooseneck attaches to a ball joint with a compression sleeve: again, this gives you a great deal of flexibility for final positioning in order to obtain your desired viewing angle and lock it in place. The male "T-slot" attached to the ball joint ensures that the device you attach slides on and can't simply fall off. This package comes with an additional female T-slot bracket that you can mount to a different device for quick changeout. Some points of interest:

The universal holder comes with two sets of arms that slide in place and are easy to change out. One set (4) of short arms (pictured) and one set (4) of long arms. So you could ideally have three different size combinations depending on your device (4 short, 4 long, 2 each short and long). The holder is spring loaded with no lock and anything it holds just remains pinched under constant spring pressure. To remove the device, you have to fight the spring pressure to release it.

I opted not to use the universal holder because it (specifically the arms) didn't seem to have a secure hold on my phone. Instead, I used the spare female T-slot bracket and attached it to the external case on the phone. This will result in a lot of extra bulk and I understand most people aren't going to be satisfied with this route. I do find that the ease with which my phone mounts to the gooseneck more than makes up for the extra piece of plastic on the case for as much as I use my phone in the car. Instead of prying the universal holder open and stressing the small plastic arms, all I have to do is line up the male and female T-slots and slide it 1/4" to lock into place.

Bottom line:

The gooseneck is easy to mount and keeps a low profile wherever you want to route it. It stays in place once positioned and wobbles ever so slightly when the car is in motion. The universal holder is why I gave it 4/5 stars and mainly because of the weak arms. A product advertised for larger devices should be capable of safely protecting such an expensive device. Because the ball joint and T-slot hardware are relatively universal, it should be fairly easy to find a different holder that uses a ratcheting lock style that many of us are familiar with. That would have made this a 5 star product. As it stands, mine is working great with a minor tweak so this is a positive review.

i used this stand daily for my phone in my car and often with my tablet.

its great if you dont have a good spot in your car where you can see your device while using gps on it, and i found phone calls over bluetooth to be better also since i could immediately see the caller.

I mounted this under my passenger seat left bolt closest to the center console and people could sit up from with me without anything getting in the way.

i did find that i shakes a little when i hit bumps or the like, but i found i could greatly reduce them to a tolerable level by tightening the 2 screws that attach the flexible pole to the hook and the base.

The installation is exceptionally easy and really quite clever. The mount holds my iPhone 4 or 5 very well and I never feel like it will pop out. The charging cable for my 5 fits between the space at the bottom of the mount with no problem. When I charge my 4 the cable does not fit in the same spot but the phone is still held in very securely and I'm not worried.

My only complaint is that the the unit shakes when driving at hwy speeds. This could be a result of the car (although I don't think so) but I'm pretty sure it's just the design of the flexible arm. You can adjust the arm in a way that it rests against you console and doesn't shake at all if you're lucky enough to have this option.

Even knowing that it shakes a little I would still recommend it as it does an excellent job of keeping my phone viewable (safe while driving) and up out of the way and from in between my seats.

I just want to make this known. I reviewed, and reviewed, and picked this item above others related to cost and description. However, when the product came, located on the bottom corner of the box, was a small symbol, with : "CARRIES ONE BOAT when paired with another set of saddles or rollers" Inside package information says the same. Well looking at the item on this site, there are four attachments pictured, and nowhere does the description read that only two are included, and that you need two more....if you pay attention, another set of saddles or rollers absolutely doubles the price, AND I didn't have time to wait for further shipping. I ended up buying something local. I'll be returning this package.

I gave this product only three stars based on several factors. First, the product description leads you to beleive you are ordering a complete kayak rooftop rack with tie downs; it reads,Yakima MakoAero Saddle Rooftop Kayak Rack with Tie Down. Well, you are only getting "half a saddle"; you have to order two of these saddles, and they're expensive at $80 a pop!

Secondly, the mounting instructions were a bit difficult for me to understand(and I'm pretty handy with tools and such), but a call to the Yakima customer service folks did help. I think this is probably typical in todays world; if you're a novice you will struggle as you proceed through the learning curve of any activity. I guess it's an unwritten rule you have to spend a lot of money on several products before you finally get what works for you.

Although I think these saddles will work OK for our Perception Tribe SOT kayaks, it's not the best fit. Why, because our SOT kayaks have hard chine hull shapes whereas most sit-in kayaks have round hulls.

IMO you need to ask two important questions when you purchase any kayak or canoe; is there a specific mounting system that will accomodate MY kayak/canoe and fit MY vehicle roof rack/cross bars??!!! This "one size fits all" approach really means, we have a pretty close idea of what a really good fitting rack/canoe/kayak transporting system ought to be, but in the interest of our profit margin and marketing, we don't expect to get it right every time...oh well. If you own an Xterra with the big diameter tube roof rack system, you will have trouble fitting any canoe/kayak mounting system. You would think each vehicle would design a roof rack to actually carry something, but that's another story....

Yakima does a good job, but it's not perfect. It's obvious the designer of this saddle doesn't like SOT kayaks, or never took the time to see if it would actually work for SOT kayaks. The saddle mounting system is also evidence a couple of sliding pads may work on "most" cross bars, but not all. I'm sure nobody actually "field tested" these on the factory roof racks for all the SUV vehicles they were targeting. Computers can't do everything....

I have yet to road test this saddle system because I only received half a saddle. I ordered the other half, so we'll have to wait a week or so before we will know how these saddles handle going down the road with my kayaks on the roof! I can't wait....

i have tried several ways to carry my kayaks and this is the best i have found. The kayaks slide on very easily and than are held in place very securely with the provided straps. Originally I paired with Hully rollers but quickly found that i was not happy with the rollers. they seem to bind on my kayaks hull and made loading more difficult. I sent them back and ordered another pair of the Aeros and am very happy now.

Unfortunately I had to return my first set of MakoAero Saddles because the locks would not fit the saddle housings and it was a hassle because my trip was the following day. It seems the new manufacturing plant in Mexico (?) is not the same quality that I experienced with my original Yakima rack and add-ons that I purchased 18 years ago. I have the same issue on one of the four locks on the actual rack. The saddle design is fine and firmly held the kayak in place.

The back seat cover they forgot that back seats have seat belts and so they didn't leave any holes available for the clip in part. They also do not conform to bucket seats well on the front seats. I know the back seat cover wasn't for head rests but I feel that more and more back seats are not removable so they should include that often. I do love the skulls and at least I was able to find a whole set that expresses my love of skulls, but I feel they should be even more universal for back seats that are still regularly used to tote people around too.

I do like the seat covers a lot. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the fit is WAY off. Also, the straps snapped with little to no pull. However, they do provide hooks with which you can secure the cover. I'm hoping all the tucking will keep it in place.
